Rust earns U.S. Air Force promotion

Justin Rust, Heerlen, Netherlands, was recently selected to receive the rank of chief master sergeant, the highest enlisted rank with the U.S. Air Force.

Rust is the son of Kraig and Pat Rust, rural Kenneth, and the grandson of Bud and Gloria Rust, also of rural Kenneth, and Joan Heeren Luverne.

He joined the military in 2000. Rust’s achievement is ahead of the Air Force average of 20 years in receiving the chief master sergeant rank.

Currently, Rust is stationed at the NATO Air Base in Geilenkirchen, Germany.

The promotion becomes effective in June.

He and his wife, Judith, have a daughter, Inesita.

Shirley Top with Kozlowski Insurance Agency and Financial Services of Luverne was recognized as a top-producing crop insurance agent for Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company of West Des Moines, Iowa.

Top placed 28th in the company’s top 50 agents in crop hail premium. She also ranked fifth in Minnesota for combined multi-peril crop insurance and crop hail premium in 2017. In 2016 Top was eighth in the state.

This year was Top’s 30th in the crop insurance business.
