Phyllis Elaine Murphy, 94, Brainerd, formerly of Baxter, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at Good Samaritan Society – Woodland.
Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Burial was in Baxter City Cemetery.
Phyllis Horigan was born on April 28, 1923, to Lyle and Frances (Kohn) Horigan in Luverne. She graduated from Luverne High School in 1941.
Phyllis worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell for 30 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of St. Jude Guild, a Gold Star Mother and belonged to the V.F.W. and American Legion.
Survivors include her sisters, Kay Nelson and Therese (Dave) Potter; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons Danny and Jim; brothers Lyle Jr. and Bud; sisters Janet Dawson and Mary Schneekloth; an infant brother, Joseph; and her nephew, Andrew.
