Dragon girls top H-BC for first win
The Adrian girls’ basketball team produced its first win of the season when they upended the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots 57-51 in Adrian.
AHS raced to a 33-21 lead in the first half and withstood H-BC’s challenge (the Patriots outscored the Dragons 30-24) in the second half to prevail by six points.
Hannah Bullerman (19 points and five rebounds), Lexi Slater (11 points and eight rebounds), Alexia Kemper (three steals), Bailey Lonneman (five rebounds) and Paige Bullerman (six rebounds) played well for AHS.
Grace Bundesen (14 points and five rebounds), Sidney Fick (12 points and three steals), Megan Gehrke (eight rebounds) and Paige Tilstra (three steals) led H-BC.
Raiders overwhelm Ellsworth boys in Fulda
The Ellsworth boys’ basketball team dropped its second consecutive contest when it came up on the short end of an 81-59 decision in Fulda.
The Raiders rolled to a 49-26 lead in the first half and won by 22 points after EHS sported a 33-32 scoring edge in the second half.
Brandon Kramer (15 points, seven rebounds and four assists) and Noah Kruse (14 points and five assists) played strong games for the Panthers.
E-Gals saddle Panther girls with their first loss
The Ellsworth girls’ basketball team dropped its first game of the year when the Panthers came up on the short end of a 67-25 tally against Southwest Christian in Edgerton.
The E-Gals opened a 32-17 lead over EHS in the first half and outscored the Panthers 35-8 in the second half to complete a 42-point conquest.
Devin Dreesen (11 points and six rebounds) and Lizzie Chapa (six rebounds) led the Panthers statistically.
