Lead Summary

Minnesota Rep. Joe Schomacker, Luverne, received a certificate of appreciation from the Minnesota Organization for Habilitation and Rehabilitation (MOHR) during a ceremony Aug. 29 at the Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center in Alexandria. He’s pictured with Elizabeth Schear, director of Rock County Opportunities in Luverne. In the Minnesota House this past legislative session Schomacker carried and helped pass MOHR-supported Disability Waiver Rate System legislation, which aims to help organizations like RCO.
 
Schomacker is serving his fourth term representing House District 22A, which covers the southwestern corner of the state. He has worked in the area of health and human services policy serving as the chair of the House Aging and Long Term Care Policy Committee in 2015 and 2016 and currently as the chair of the House Health and Human Services Reform Committee. He also serves on the House Health and Human Services Finance Committee as well as the House Agriculture Finance Committee.
