David John Granneman, 67, Coon Rapids, formerly of Luverne, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at United Hospital in St. Paul from ongoing health problems.
Mass of Christian burial was Monday, March 6, at Epiphany Catholic Church in Coon Rapids.
David Granneman was born April 12, 1949, to John and Alvera (Biever) Granneman in Tyler. He grew up in Tyler and in Luverne. He graduated from Luverne High School in 1967. As a young adult he worked at Iowa Beef Processors and for the local newspaper, and in 1968 he joined the United States Air Force.
He married Joanne (Joni) Cavers on Aug. 25, 1973, in Antigo, Wisconsin. After moving to Duluth following David’s discharge from the service, the couple moved to suburban Minneapolis. David worked on computer systems throughout his career and retired from CenturyLink in 2014.
David is survived by his wife, Joni, Coon Rapids; his daughter, Diana, Minneapolis; six siblings, Steven (Marge) Granneman, Lakeville, Dale (Debbie) Granneman, Faribault, Joanne (Bruce) Fodness, Hardwick, Mark (Cleo) Granneman, Northfield, Brian (Pam) Granneman, Jasper, and Stewart Granneman, Golden Valley; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
