Lois Hatting, 78, Luverne, died Sunday, March 5, 2017, at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 9, at Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at Hartquist Funeral Home in Luverne.
Lois Binford was born Aug. 4, 1938, to Harold and Clara (Nelson) Binford in Luverne, where she was raised. She received her education and graduated from Luverne High School in 1956.
On Aug. 28, 1971, Lois married Robert Hatting at the Grace United Methodist Church in Moorhead. The couple made their home in Luverne. Throughout her life, Lois worked sales positions at Ben Franklin, True Value and Loopy’s. She also worked for a time in the deli at Glen’s Food Center. Her husband, Bob, died Jan. 26, 2011. Lois continued working part time until her health declined.
Lois was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. She enjoyed decorating her home and putting together puzzles. She will be remembered for her humility, great wit and joy, and the compassion she had for others.
Lois is survived by her children, Connie (Brian) Berseth, Fridley, and Darcy Mulvihill (Bryan Sandwick), Rogers; a daughter-in-law, Suzanne Mulvihill, Cheyenne, Wyoming; six grandchildren, Chris Berseth, Chad Berseth, Eric Berseth, Derek Mulvihill, Breanna Kodet and Brielle Mulvihill; two great-grandchildren, Etta Berseth and Eisley Berseth; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; a son, Gregg Mulvihill; her parents; and four brothers, Howard, Lowell, Jerry and Keith Binford.
