Patriots stroll to easy win in Okabena

The Hills-Beaver Creek girls registered a lopsided Red Rock Conference basketball victory in Okabena.

The visiting Patriots coasted to a 44-20 halftime advantage and outscored the Wildcats 31-18 in the second half to complete a 75-38 rout.

Sidney Fick (23 points, Kourtney Rozeboom (17 points and eight rebounds), Grace Bundesen (12 points, 13 rebounds and three steals), Madison Spath (four assists), Paige Tilstra (three assists) and Avery Van Roekel (three assists) played well in the win for H-BC.


Dragon girls register home win over Edgerton

The Adrian girls’ basketball team posted a 51-42 home victory over the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen.

The Dragons sported a 22-17 lead after 18 minutes of play and used a 29-25 scoring cushion in the second half to complete a nine-point win.

Hannah Bullerman (13 points, five rebounds and four steals), Paige Bullerman (12 points and six rebounds), Lexi Slater (12 rebounds) and Mikayla Jeffers (10 rebounds) played key roles in the victory.


H-BC boys squander halftime advantage to Arrows

The Hills-Beaver Creek boys’ basketball team let a halftime lead slip away when they entertained Pipestone in Hills.

H-BC sported a 41-34 advantage at the intermission, but the Arrows rallied to outscore the Patriots 35-23 in the second half to secure a 69-64 win.

Preston Wilhelmi (21 points), Zach Scholten (13 points and 13 rebounds), Jax Wysong (12 points and 10 rebounds) and Isaiah Vis (five rebounds) led the Patriots statistically in the game.


MCC Rebels upend Ellsworth girls

The Ellsworth girls’ basketball team came up on the short end of a 57-44 decision when the Panthers took on Murray County Central in Slayton.

MCC sported a 28-20 advantage at the intermission and used a 29-24 scoring cushion in the second half to clinch a 13-point win.

Devin Dreesen (19 points and nine rebounds), Ashlyn Meester (10 points), Morgan Dreesen (six rebounds) and Kallie Chapa (three assists) turned in productive games for the Panthers.
