Four graduate from basic military training
Four Luverne High School graduates recently completed U.S. Air Force basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Makayla Sterrett, Morgan Haugen, Adam Fodness and Jack Baustian completed eight weeks of intensive training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
All four are members of the South Dakota Air National Guard and are currently completing technical studies.
Sterrett is the daughter of Thomas and Melissa Sterrett, Luverne, and is training in aircraft armament systems.
Haugen is the daughter of Kurt and Julie Haugen, Luverne, and is studying financial management and comptroller.
Fodness is the son of Bryan and Mavis Fodness, Hardwick, and is completing studies in aerospace propulsion.
Baustian is the son of Pat and Katie Baustian, Luverne, and is training in technical aircraft maintenance.
All are 2016 graduates of Luverne High School and have earned or will earn the rank of airman first class.
