School needs community input

Independent School District 2184 is starting the process of developing a long-range plan for the educational and facility needs of the district.

The Board of Education has engaged Foster, Jacobs, & Johnson, a consulting firm from Sioux Falls, to lead the important step of community stakeholder meetings.

The scheduled meetings are an opportunity for community members to share thoughts, ideas, and visions for the future needs of learning and education now and into the 21st century.

Education today does not look and feel like it did 30, 20, or even 10 years ago. The constant change and evolution of various components in education make predicting the future extremely difficult. This is where the community plays an integral role.

By engaging in the community stakeholder meetings, input from the public is gathered to help shape the future of education in the community of Luverne.

The input received will not only add value to the process, it will help formulate changes to the educational programs and facilities that will be responsible for educating the students of Luverne for many years into the future.

Community stakeholder meetings will be Monday, Jan. 30, and Monday, Feb. 6.

The meetings will be conducted in the elementary school commons from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

You are encouraged to attend and be part of the positive outcome that will result from the long-range plan.
