Jerome “Jerry” Allen Untiedt, 68, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016.
A funeral was Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Calvary Chapel in Kennesaw, Georgia.
He was born in St. Paul on Jan. 13, 1948 to Edna Leister. At the age of six months, Jerry was adopted by Lloyd and Harriet (Mulder) Untiedt of Luverne.
Jerry was a graduate of Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and worked in the telephone communications field. He married Gloria VanDerAarde in 1969 and they had three children.
He later moved to Melbourne, Florida, and began his own online training company. He married Susan (Hough Fieg) in 2000.
Jerry had many hobbies and interests, including music, woodworking, cooking and hiking. In 2011 he was inducted into the South Dakota Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.
Jerry suffered a debilitating stroke in 2009 and was diagnosed with Lewy Bodies dementia in 2012.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Susan; his son Steven Untiedt, daughter-in-law Jayme, grandson Wyatt, his daughters Caroline Ruzzamenti and Jennifer Untiedt and their mother, Gloria VanDerAarde; step-daughter Laura Fieg Kasibante (Chief Kasibante), step-son Brian Fieg (Emily Davenport), five stepgrandchildren, and several cousins, half-brothers and half-sisters.
