Dispatch report
Sept. 23
•Deputies were out checking businesses to make sure doors were locked and buildings secured.
•Complainant reported she had an order for protection paper served on subject, and since then, he and his girlfriend keep contacting her.
•Complainant reported that someone got into her car in her garage last night and took some change.
•Deputy arrested man for violating an order for protection. He was taken to jail.
Sept. 24
•Deputy got a phone call regarding a suspicious teal pickup in area of 181st Street and 190th Avenue. Squads checked area.
•Complainant reported that across the road to the south of their residence is a grove of trees. There seems to be a lot of shooting coming from that location, and she is concerned that they might point in her direction. Deputy went, and it was approved target shooting.
•Complainant reported that her brother had been arrested for a DWI in Rock County earlier this spring. No one has heard from him since, and no social media. She was told to call our department for a welfare check at his last known address. This is a Jasper/Pipestone County address. Complainant was directed to Pipestone County.
•Complainant reported that for some time now she has been smelling a horrible smell in the building at odd hours between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Complainant was told to call when she smelled it again and a deputy would come check it out.
•Complainant reported a very large tree down across County Road 8 south of Blue Mounds State Park. County engineer was contacted and will check it out.
•Complainant brought a cell phone to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, which was given to him by someone from the band festival. Believed to have been found at the football field. Phone is locked. It is a Verizon LG slide phone, black in color. Phone was picked up.
•Complainant reported that she was out for a walk and found what appears to be a two-year-old outside alone. She took the child to the door of the house and knocked for five to 10 minutes. A man came to the door and did not seem at all concerned for the child, and she would like a welfare check on him, as he did not seem to be doing well.
•Complainant reported vehicle was stalled at Kniss Avenue and Dodge Street and now stalled in owner’s driveway on the sidewalk. Her husband is at a ballgame and will make arrangements to move it when he gets home.
•Deputy conducted a check of a vehicle parked in a field approach between 90th Avenue and 100th Avenue for suspicious activity. There were four parties possibly looking for wood or railroad ties for a bonfire. Also warned for littering.
•Complainant reported a white SUV, possibly Chevy, driving fast and all over the road on County Road 4. Continued north on 190th Avenue.
Sept. 25
•Complainant reported girlfriend threw a cigarette and Xbox controller at him. Parties separated as there were no marks on either of them.
•Complainant in Hills reported her car broken into and cash was taken.
•Complainant reported an erratic driver on Highway 23 north of Jasper. Transferred to State Patrol.
•Complainant reported he needed a tow and was told to call 911 to get a phone number for a towing company.
•Complainant reported an Ezip scooter that was left in front of the Laundry Room since yesterday. Put in impound.
•Complainant reported illegal activity and illegal possession of a firearm. Vehicle is possibly headed to South Dakota on I-90.
Sept. 26
•Complainant reported that there is a dark-colored, either gray or black, Dodge Charger heading eastbound on I-90 doing well over 100 mph. Sent call to State Patrol, too.
•Complainant reported he is being harassed and people are vandalizing his property.
•Complainant reported that his mailbox was dented. He just wanted a report done to document it.
•Complainant requested a deputy to the school for a disorderly child.
•Complainant reported a white Blazer type vehicle driving very slow and stopping in front of various places on North Freeman Avenue then turning and stopping in front of the old elementary school. At this point, complainant left, as she felt it was too creepy and wanted to get out of the area.
Sept. 27
•Deputy was conducting door checks on Highway 75 and found an open door to a business. Tried to contact key holders, but their numbers have changed, and we do not have the new ones. Deputy secured building.
•Complainant reported he is missing his radar detector and also had stuff in a middle console.
•Complainant reported that her boyfriend has been threatening her and wants his knives back. She brought the knives to the Law Enforcement Center and spoke to a deputy who put the knives in dispatch for him to pick up.
•Complainant brought in a CD of a shoplifter.
•Complainant reported a 2x4 block of wood in the roadway. Transferred to State Patrol.
•Complainant reported a construction company is working on Lincoln Street and Highway 75 and their vehicles are taking up the whole street. Also, they have sand on the street. Complainant thinks they should have safety cones out and doesn’t think the construction company is working safely. Deputy talked to construction company. They will have the dirt cleaned up tonight.
Sept. 28
•Complainant reported subject wrote a nonsufficient funds check to Glen’s.
•Complainant requested a deputy to check on a male walking south on Davidson Street toward Main Street. Male is wearing brown pants and a long-sleeved green T-shirt with a satchel over his shoulder. She said he was walking around the neighborhood all day yesterday and is now back again. Deputy spoke with subject and told him he needs to go to the city for a solicitor’s license.
•Complainant reported that his mother told him to call 911 because his dad was hurting her. They hung up, so deputy went to speak with her. She said it was verbal, and he left.
•Complainant reported a lost wallet with permit and fishing license in it. After renewing everything, the wallet was located in the home.
•H-BC requested a deputy to help with the Homecoming parade on Friday. She would like him to be north of 2nd Street on County Road 6 at 2:30 p.m.
•Complainant reported a fire alarm going off at location. Paged Luverne Fire Department and sent deputy.
Sept. 29
•Deputy reported open door at a business. Everything appears to be OK. Door was secured and key holders notified.
•Complainant reported a white car with four-ways on stopping at all condos on the street and getting out. Complainant feels that this is suspicious. Squads unable to locate. It was possibly the paper guy.
•Complainant requested to speak to deputy regarding five-year-old walking to dad’s house alone.
•Complainant reported that a woman driving a 2012 Chevy Impala has a flat tire, and they can’t get in touch with G&S. Notified State Patrol.
•Complainant reported tires have been dumped at 140th Avenue and 91st Street. Deputy advised the tires belong to the company doing the digging. They use them and then pick them up and move them along.
•Complainant reported that her dad kicked her out, and she can’t stay with her friend anymore because the landlord found out she was there and kicked her out. She was helped through Salvation Army and will be taken to South Dakota tomorrow.
•Complainant reported possible child abuse. Requested deputy to come.
•Complainant reported she would like to speak with a deputy about issues she is having with her daughter (subject) not listening. Complainant reported that she has a cell phone she is not supposed to have. Deputy reported that a cell phone was recovered and returned to complainant.
In addition, officers responded to 4 motor vehicle accidents, 1 deer accident, 4 transports, 2 funeral escorts, 10 traffic stops, 18 ambulance runs, 2 paper services, 4 animal complaints, 2 false alarms, 1 driver’s license check, 7 log/alarm sheets, 4 drug court tests, 4 money escorts, and issued 4 purchase/carry permits and 1 burn permit.
