Dispatch report
Sept. 9
•Complainant reported there are people in the lot on the east side of the building asking people for gas for their gas cans. Trooper took the call and said someone had bought them gas before he arrived and they left.
•Complainant reported man came between her and her daughter and violated his order for protection. Wanted to speak to a deputy.
•Deputies arrested subject on a warrant out of Pipestone County. Turned subject over to Pipestone County.
•Complainant reported that someone just drove through his cornfield. He did not see it happen, but it was witnessed by another man. That man followed the suspect home, and she is parked in her garage with the door open and cornstalks hanging from her car. He said that she was weaving all over the road as he followed her home.
•Complainant reported that a woman put something on his property. Deputy spoke with suspect, and she admitted to using olive oil to bless the place.
•Deputies arrested man for assault and took him to jail.
•Complainant reported the lock is off the electric box at location. Contacted city personnel.
•Complainant called 911 crying so hard it was hard to hear. She may have been beaten up. She denied needing an ambulance. She said she has a place to stay but needs a ride. She is at the residence with her parents and other family. Deputy reported the issue was the complainant did not do dishes when her mother told her to and had her phone taken away.
•Complainant requested to speak to deputy about daughter being bothered by a boy.
•Deputy arrested subject for fleeing a peace officer. Subject was taken to jail.
Sept. 10
•Complainant reported they are broke down at location and unsure exactly where they are. Towed by Erwin’s to Sioux Falls.
•Complainant called to report someone hit woman’s garage door during the night.
•Complainant called 911. She only speaks Spanish. Reported her son was smoking marijuana, and she does not want him smoking it there. Son had already left with a friend.
•Lyon County, Iowa, reported they had a call from a lady transporting her 14-year-old son who was having a grand mal seizure and wasn’t breathing. She didn’t know where she was but somewhere between Luverne and Rock Rapids heading toward Rock Rapids. The cell phone would not accept calls. Barb sent out an ambulance, but they were unable to locate. Not at Sanford Luverne Hospital. Located and taken to Sanford in Rock Rapids.
•Complainant reported man was arrested on our warrant. He also has a warrant from Sioux Falls. They are going to pick him up and when they are done, will notify us.
•Complainant reported man is having problems again. Contacted daughter, and she is going back over.
Sept. 11
•Complainant reported two guys fighting at the Howling Dog Saloon.
•Complainant reported a domestic with one injured.
•Complainant requested to speak to deputy. Had a pickup and a racing trailer either stolen or repossessed at Badlands Raceway. Advised to contact bank or law enforcement in Minnehaha County.
•Lifeline called in an alarm for woman at The Oaks. Contacted The Oaks, and they said she had fallen but is sitting in the lobby visiting. Does not want the ambulance.
•Complainant reported man is contacting her friends and she has an order for protection against him.
•Complainant reported her car is stalled at location. Will get it moved tomorrow. Deputy reported the resident at 218 painted the curb yellow by the driveway. It is not a yellow line enforceable by us.
•Complainant requested an escort to get his clothes. Deputy reported this load has been picked up. There are still some items. They will contact us at a future date to arrange to pick them up.
Sept. 12
•Complainant requested a welfare check on a person who may be ill. He has not eaten in several days and has missed work.
•Complainant reported two semitrailers driving side by side and no one is able to pass because both lanes are taken. Transferred to Minnesota Highway Patrol. Got more calls of vehicles passing them on the shoulder.
•Complainant reported some kids on bike pushing one of the big trashcans around by the electrical building at the city park. Deputy did not see any kids doing this but found a bike and brought it to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office impound.
•Deputy found a bike where the kids were horsing around and brought it to the Rock County Sheriffs Office impound.
•Complainant reported that a man had fallen at Howling Dog Saloon and hit his head and was going in and out of consciousness. Paged ambulance and deputies to scene. Deputy reported patient is a 50-year-old male and is not making much sense when asked questions. Deputy also noted patient is under the influence. Patient refused service.
•Dispatcher ran man from previous incoming call and discovered that his license indicates that any use of drugs or alcohol invalidates his driver’s license. Documentation will be sent to the state.
Sept. 13
•Complainant reported subject is contacting her via the Internet, which is in violation of the protection order.
•Complainant reported a ladder in the road by the Adrian rest area. Transferred to State Patrol.
•Complainant reported she received a phone call from 507-205-9116 saying they are a home security company, advising that people in her neighborhood are having trouble with their home security system, and asking if she’d heard anything about it.
•Complainant reported vehicle driving 40 mph stopping on the shoulder and throwing cigarette and beer bottles at his vehicle. Complainant will sign a complaint.
•State Patrol requested assistance with vehicles with flat tires on I-90 westbound mile marker 9.
Sept. 14
•Deputy reported open door at a business. Deputies searched building and secured it. They also set off alarms and dispatch was notified by alarm company. Unable to contact key holder, so left a message. Front door was secured and deputies went back out.
•Complainant reported unsafe living conditions and illness in a family.
•Complainant called 911 and reported someone wearing yellow doing something. She said he grabbed her phone; then dispatch lost connection. Deputy went to West Mead Court to check on subject, but no one was around and no one else saw anything.
•Complainant reported a woman has been sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot. She came in and asked if they had security and said her kids’ dad was having a mental breakdown and was in the van. She left. They are concerned about her.
•Deputy reported vehicle on the side of road with flashers on. It is well off the road and not blocking.
•Complainant requested to speak to a deputy concerning an issue with a customer.
•Reserved for predatory offender registration.
•Complainant reported he is in the back lot of the sheriff’s office and has locked himself in his RV. All the RV places are closed. Deputy opened the door and advised the proper procedure.
•Complainant reported a driving complaint on Highway 75 southbound at mile marker 17. It is a blue pickup with topper going over center and fog line. Deputy followed to Highway 270, and there was no going over the line or swerving.
Sept. 15
•Complainant reported that door was unlocked, and she did not want to go in alone. Deputy reported building was clear.
•Complainant reported they will be bleeding off natural gas lines in area of West Fletcher and South Freeman and will call when done.
•Complainant reported they had a theft last night.
•Complainant reported child neglect.
•Complainant reported child neglect.
•Complainant reported theft of a wheelchair from his garage.
•Complainant reported a tree on fire at 1040 150th Avenue. The tree is about 50 feet from a propane tank. Paged Luverne Fire Department.
•Complainant reported water over the road at County Road 8 by the Blue Mounds, and County Road 6. Signs have been put up.
•Complainant reported the theft of some change and sunglasses from his vehicle while parked in his driveway.
•Complainant reported the rain is leaking in and their landlord won’t do anything about it.
•Minnesota Duty Officer received a report of wastewater facility bypass from the city.
•Deputy was stopped by a city council member who thinks the intake at the pond is plugged. Contacted John from the city.
•Deputy requested city be contacted about the trees covering the no parking signs. Contacted John from the city.
•Complainant reported a fire alarm going off at the high school in Luverne. Paged Luverne Fire Department.
•Complainant reported people are in the hospital parking lot, and at least two of them have Nobles County warrants. Deputy went to the lot, and they had left. Someone suggested they may be heading to Pipestone. Notified Pipestone County.
In addition, officers responded to 5 motor vehicle accidents, 3 transports, 11 traffic stops, 24 ambulance runs, 8 paper services, 6 animal complaints, 1 false alarm, 25 driver’s license checks, 7 log/alarm sheets, 6 drug court tests, 3 money escorts, 5 unwarranted 911 calls, and issued 3 purchase/carry permits and 2 burn permits.
