Audrey Mae Timmerman, 88, Luverne, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at the Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids, Iowa.
A funeral was Monday, Sept. 19, at Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. Burial followed at Garden of Memories Cemetery near Luverne.
Audrey Peterson was born Dec. 7, 1927, to Frank and Bernice (Brown) Peterson in Rock Rapids. She was confirmed and baptized at St. John Lutheran Church in Luverne on Dec. 28, 1958.
Audrey married William “Bill” Timmerman on Jan. 30, 1949, in Rock Rapids. The couple lived in Rock Rapids for a short time before moving to Luverne. Audrey worked at the J.C. Penney store in Luverne for over 29 years. She also worked at Tony’s Foodland and cleaned apartments in Luverne.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Luverne. She enjoyed baking, flower gardening, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She made several afghans.
Audrey is survived by her brother, Marvin (Mary) Peterson, Rock Rapids; her sister, Mary (John) Anderson, Rock Rapids; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; two brothers, Alvin and Lee Peterson; and two sisters, Inez Korthals and Alice Buss.
