4-H'ers kick off fair season with Presentation Night

Rock County 4-H conducted their annual Presentation Night on Thursday, July 7, with members participating in performing arts, demonstrations, foods review and club banner judging.  
This year performances included piano, clarinet solos, a clarinet and guitar duet and a drum solo piece.
Participants receiving red ribbons were Krista Burkman with her performance on the piano and Michaela Abels’ clarinet solo. Dean Fuerstenberg received a reserve champion ribbon for his drum performance, and Hannah Kruse received a grand champion for her clarinet solo and guitar duet.
Foods review participants receiving blue ribbons included Cassi Chesley, Michaela Abels, Drew Leenderts, Sarah Stegenga and Samantha Moser.  Alexa Chesley and Gretchen Jacobsma received purple ribbons. Elisabeth Kelm received reserve champion on her “Farm to Market,” and Danette Leenderts received grand champion on her “Candy Land” themed meal and table setting.
In demonstrations Hannah Kruse participated in livestock demonstrations by presenting to members and the judge the proper methods of vaccinating cattle with her “Give It A Shot” theme. She received a grand champion ribbon.
Club banners were also judged that evening with blue ribbons being given to the Livewires, Denver Go- Getters and County K-9s.
The Blue Ribbon Club received a purple ribbon. Springdell received reserve champion and Magnolia Juniors received the grand champion ribbon. Both clubs will represent Rock County at the Minnesota State Fair this coming August/September in the Twin Cities.
Club banners and food review table settings will be displayed at the Rock County Fair July 27-30.
