The Southwest Initiatives Foundation is celebrating its 30th anniversary by recognizing 30 people, organizations or businesses that provide a snapshot of all those who “make southwest Minnesota a special place.”
At SWIF’s 30th anniversary celebration April 29 near Granite Falls, the organization honored three local entities among that group of 30:
•Gary Papik, Luverne, president of Papik Motors, a founder of LIFT (Luverne Initiatives For Tomorrow) and community leader,
•Lisa Dinger, Luverne, Child Guide leader, promoting student success and connecting students to activities at Luverne Elementary School, and
•Fey Industries, Edgerton, “Innovative” manufacturer and imprinter, family owned and operated for 50-plus years.
“Our hope is that they will inspire all southwest Minnesotans to picture their role in keeping our communities strong and vibrant for years to come,” was a statement on the SWIF website about the 30-30 awards.
The Southwest Initiative Foundation brings together resources, expertise and inspiration to make communities stronger. The organization supports community leaders, invests in businesses and provides business lending, helps entrepreneurs grow and improve, supports children and families, manages funds for local giving, processes gifts and grants and promote our region.
“In short, we work with people who want to make a difference in southwest Minnesota, both today and forever.”
The organization will highlight all 30 honorees throughout its 30th anniversary year.
