Local meat processor receives award

Brian and Kathy Chapa, Ellsworth, were honored for their entry in the 2016 Minnesota Meat Processors Convention at St. Cloud Civic Center in St. Cloud recently.
The Chapas, owners of Ellsworth Locker, were awarded champion for their bone-in ham and braunschweiger entries. They earned reserve champion for their mushroom and Swiss brats as well as their smoked pork sausage.
A total of 461 meat products were entered in 26 different categories.
Products were judged by 42 experts in the meat industry.
