Patriot girls top Adrian in RRC play
The Hills-Beaver Creek girls’ basketball team won its 10th Red Rock Conference game of the season by downing Adrian 60-44 in Hills.
H-BC sported a 29-24 lead in the first half before outscoring the Dragons 31-20 in the second half to clinch a 16-point win.
Sidney Fick (16 points, five rebounds and five assists), Grace Bundesen (14 points and 10 rebounds), Avery Van Roekel (12 points, four assists and three steals), Kourtney Rozeboom (six rebounds) and Jasmine Lingen (three steals) emerged as H-BC’s statistical leaders.
Paige Bullerman (10 points and five rebounds), Jodi Bents (six rebounds and three assists), Brooke Gruissing (seven rebounds) and Hannah Bullerman (three assists) played well for the Dragons.
Raiders hand Panthers their third consecutive setback
The Ellsworth girls’ basketball team dropped its third straight game when it came up on the short end of a 56-44 decision against Fulda in Ellsworth.
The Raiders opened a 10-point (31-21) cushion in the first half and used a 25-23 scoring cushion in the second half to prevail by 12 points.
Megan Popkes (18 points and 10 rebounds), Hannah Kramer (seven rebounds) and Ashlyn Meester (three assists) led the Panthers statistically.
