Jan. 22
•Complainant requested help in finding an owner to get a vehicle moved. Someone dropped vehicle off and said they’d be back in a couple of days. Vehicle didn’t have a tire and was jacked up. It was in the way of the delivery truck, so they had it towed.
•Deputy checked on a trailer that matched the description of one stolen earlier. It was not the same trailer.
•Complainant requested a deputy come and get a warrant for service.
•Deputy attempted service of warrant. Subject does not live there anymore. He was located elsewhere.
•Complainant requested to speak with a deputy in regard to the carry law in Minnesota. He has a concealed carry in South Dakota. Deputy explained the law to him.
•Deputy arrested subject on a Rock County Warrant. Subject bonded out.
•Complainant reported vandalism to a vehicle at the school.
•Deputy received a report of a scam where the person who received the calls was asked for a credit card number. Phone numbers that the calls came from were 212-238-6230 and 612-328-9629.
Jan. 23
•Deputy reported a vehicle parked on the north side of lot running unoccupied.
•Dispatch received several 911 calls about rollover on I-90, mile marker 3. Patrol advised no injuries. Erwin’s en route. Turned over to patrol.
•Complainant came to law enforcement center to report his child’s mother will not let him have his kid. Deputy spoke to both parties. Court order is dated 2012 and is unclear which weekend complainant is to have child. Mom is saying it was to be last weekend and next weekend. Deputy advised both parties to contact courts for resolution.
•Complainant reported the back door to the business was open. Owner was contacted and advised she would go down to the business. Deputy advised building is clear.
•Complainant reported rollover at location. Paged ambulance as precaution and gave to patrol and deputies assisted.
Jan. 24
•Complainant reported a verbal domestic. Husband outside vehicle walking and complainant is driving behind him. Parties separated for the night.
•Complainant requested we make contact with subject and advise him to contact complainant. There was a family medical emergency. Deputy made contact.
•Complainant reported harassment from subject in McDonald’s parking lot.
•Dispatcher received an abandoned 911. Contacted complainant and her granddaughter was on her lap and she was unaware she dialed 911.
•Complainant reported vehicle in front of him is swerving. Transferred to State Patrol.
Jan. 25
•Deputy did a stolen vehicle check on an abandoned green van at location with no plates. Found a paper license in the back window. Not stolen.
•Complainant reported the airport manager is driving a Chevy truck with a flatbed that has expired plates.
•Dispatcher received many calls of a rollover on Highway 75 north of town. Paged ambulance and Luverne Fire Department to assist.
•Complainant reported a shoplifter that they have on tape. Occurred on Sunday.
•Complainant reported an intersection accident at Main Street and Blue Mound Avenue. Contacted G&S to tow one of the cars.
•Complainant reported an accident on I-90, mile marker 5. Transferred to patrol.
Jan. 26
•Complainant reported an accident on I-90 eastbound near mile marker 6. White vehicle just spun out and was sitting across both lanes. Cannot see the vehicle with the snow. Needed lights to get there as soon as possible. Caller was transferred to state patrol. Deputy and trooper went to call. Patrol started Erwin’s.
•Deputy requested we contact G&S to tow a vehicle that is on County Road 3 north of I-90.
•Complainant stopped in to say he was in an accident last night and was supposed to meet with a trooper. He was given the phone number for State Patrol.
•Complainant reported a car almost hit her and a child at West Dodge and North Kniss.
•Complainant turned in a camera he found while walking his dog. It is an Olympus Stylus Tough with a sticker saying “Property of the State of Minnesota.” Contacted patrol. They will send a message out and see if they can find the owner. Claimed by Department of Transportation Supervisor.
•Complainant wanted to speak to a deputy about his yard becoming a snowmobile track in Hardwick.
•Complainant reported they would be out for training.
•Complainant reported a domestic at location with his girlfriend. Parties separated for the night.
•Complainant reported she is closing and there is a van parked in a weird spot. It is in a no parking zone and in front of their freight door. Contacted owner and he is moving it.
•Deputy reported a dropped wallet at location. Returned to owner.
Jan. 27
•Complainant reported subject is suicidal. He was located and taken to Emergency Room.
•Complainant reported that someone took a vehicle off his lot overnight. Vehicle not located at either Hartz property. Subject sold car to salvage company out of Spencer who pulled the vehicle in the middle of the night. Subject settled with complainant.
•Complainant requested a deputy for a person who has been put on hold, and he is trying to leave.
•Complainant reported student missing. The student was to walk to the Catholic Church with a group from the school, but no one in the group saw her.
•Deputy reported that someone turned in a wallet they found. Tried to contact owner by phone, but we didn’t have the current number. Deputy went to his apartment and no one was there. Wallet is at the sheriff’s office.
Jan. 28
•Reserved for sheriff’s sale on foreclosed property.
•Complainant reported a white Acadia type vehicle passed him in the turning lane and he was turning onto Barck Street. It is a lady driver. The plate he gave came back on a red vehicle.
•Complainant reported a maroon pickup driving fast and cutting people off at the elementary school. Complainant is willing to sign a complaint. Deputy spoke to driver.
•Complainant reported her ex came into location and made a scene. The other employees were afraid. Deputy advised there was nothing illegal that occurred and complainant was advised of her options.
•Deputy reported he is out with two cars at location. Motorist assist. One car is having transmission issues. Trying to limp it into Luverne. Advised to turn on hazard lights and watch for traffic.
•Complainant requested a residence check.
•Complainant reported an unruly child who is throwing things and tearing things apart.
•Complainant reported truck out of service.
•Complainant called the Rock County Sheriff’s Office and spoke with a deputy. He was quite intoxicated and rude and was told not to call again in that condition unless he needs help.
•Deputy stopped to check on vehicle on the side of the road at location. Everything was OK. Driver was just looking at her electronics.
In addition, officers responded to 10 traffic stops, 9 vehicles in ditch, 2 stalled vehicles, 2 funeral escorts, 4 school patrol, 18 ambulance runs, 3 parking violations, 1 fingerprint request, 6 log/alarm sheets, 9 drug court tests, and issued 25 purchase/carry permits and 11 burn permits.
