Patriot girls run away from Edgerton
The Hills-Beaver Creek girls racked up their seventh consecutive basketball game when they crushed Edgerton 66-40 in Hills.
H-BC opened a 36-20 lead in the first half and outscored the Flying Dutchmen 30-20 in the second half to seal a 26-point victory.
Sidney Fick (16 points and six rebounds), Avery Van Roekel (15 points and five rebounds), Kourtney Rozeboom (15 points and 11 rebounds), Grace Bundesen (10 points, eight rebounds and three steals) and Paige Tilstra (four assists) played well for the winners.
Lady Dragons pull out victory in Okabena
The Adrian girls registered their fourth consecutive basketball conquest when they topped Heron Lake-Okabena 35-31 in Okabena.
Adrian sported a 21-18 edge at the intermission and outscored the Wildcats by one point (14-13) in the second half to prevail by four points).
Hannah Bullerman (12 points, three assists and three steals), Paige Bullerman (five rebounds and three steals), Rebecca Sjogren (five rebounds), Mikayla Jeffer (five rebounds) and Kaitlyn Christians (three steals) led the Dragons to victory.
Falcons best Panther boys in Ellsworth
The Red Rock Central boys kept Ellsworth from registering consecutive wins by upending the Panthers 60-43.
RRC led 27-22 at halftime before outscoring EHS 33-21 in the second half to ice a 17-point win.
Malik Herman turned in a 16-point, 15-rebounds, three-blocked shot effort for the Panthers.
RRC keeps EHS girls winless
The Ellsworth girls’ basketball team dropped a ninth consecutive game when it came up on the short end of a 67-42 home decision against Red Rock Central.
RRC took advantage of 24 EHS turnovers in the first half to open a 33-10 lead and outscored the Panthers 34-32 in the second half to win by 25 points.
Megan Popkes (17 points), Hannah Kramer (nine rebounds) and Devin Dreesen (seven rebounds and three steals) led EHS statistically.
