Dispatch report
Jan. 1
•Deputy arrested subject for DWI. He was taken to jail.
Jan. 2
•Complainant reported someone shooting off fireworks on South Donaldson Street. Deputy spoke with homeowner.
•Deputy stopped subject and gave her a verbal warning.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on subject.  She received a text from him and is concerned. Sent deputies to check.
•Complainant requested a deputy to remove an individual from the premises. He has been banned from the store and still comes in.
•Complainant reported a stalled motorist on Highway 23. Transferred to State Patrol.
•Complainant reported an abandoned snowmobile. Owner advised he would get it tonight.
•Complainant reported they had a kidnapping of a 14-year-old Hispanic girl. Suspect is 18 and driving a vehicle with Minnesota plates. Minnehaha County requested we be on the lookout for a silver Mazda and occupants.
Jan. 2
•Deputy found an open door to a business. Contacted key holder.
•Complainant reported a vehicle running for the past hour with someone inside. Sent deputy to check it out.
•Complainant reported that a road sign on the curve by his house had been knocked down. Not sure what kind of sign but looked like someone had slid around the curve and hit the sign. Township contacted for repairs.
•Complainant reported theft of medication.
•Complainant reported he was upset because a deputy showed up at his house wanting to talk to him. Complainant said the deputy would keep coming back until he talked to him. He wanted it to stop.
•Deputy arrested subject for third degree DWI and took her to jail.
•Complainant reported subject started a fire to burn some hay and did not have a current burn permit. Sent deputy.
•Complainant reported hay bales and cornstalks burning next to a shed. This is from the previous ICR.
•Deputy cited subject for speed.
•Deputy issued verbal warning to subject on traffic stop.
•Deputy stopped vehicle for no current registration. Subject had them but forgot to put them on.
•Deputy stopped vehicle for equipment violation.
•Complainant reported a broken bale of hay in the middle of the road. Deputy spoke with the subject who said he will move it.
Jan. 3
•Dispatch received a 911 call with what sounded like someone moaning. Could not get a response. Sent deputy to location and tried calling the number back. It was a baby playing with the phone.
•Deputy cited subject for speed.
•Deputy cited subject for expired plates.
•Complainant requested a deputy to come and escort her roommates off the premises. They are threatening to call Social Services on her. Complainant was advised that as soon as she took money from them, she is no longer able to get rid of them as guests. Also did a welfare check on complainant’s one-year-old son.
Jan. 4
•Complainant reported a suspicious vehicle around Take 16. Deputy reported it belonged to an employee.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on an employee. She was in jail.
•Complainant reported they found a checkbook in parking lot of the RSCO. Notified owner to come get it.
•Complainant reported that she is a crossing guard and a vehicle went through her stop sign at location. She gave the plate 507DOB. Plate was run and nothing came back. Complainant was advised to fill out complaint at law enforcement center.
•Dispatcher received a 911 hang-up. Called back and grandson was playing with the phone.
•Complainant reported that she is a crossing guard and a vehicle went through her stop sign at location. She gave the plate 212KCM red car. Complainant was advised to fill out complaint at law enforcement center.
•Complainant reported a bunch of garbage dumped on the east side of the road.
•Complainant reported a snowball thrown at his vehicle from a ditch. As he went further down the road he noticed lights in the ditch. Transferred to state patrol.
•Deputy stopped vehicle for expired tags.
•Deputy stopped another vehicle for expired tags.
Jan. 5
•Deputy spotted vehicle at location with back hatch open. Closed hatch.
•Complainant reported he has a flat at location. Transferred to state patrol.
•Complainant reported a large chunk of something in the road, possibly a cement piece about 3-by-4. Deputy advised upon arrival the party that had lost what was a fridge door out of his pickup retrieved the item from the roadway.
•Complainant reported the Luverne Fire Department would be out for training.
•Complainant reported when he was at Dollar General a pickup sideswiped his vehicle but he did not notice it until he got home. Complainant did not have a plate number. It was a red pickup, ’90s style, with a hood scoop and some grey on it.
•Deputy stopped vehicle and advised driver to update tags.
•Deputy stopped vehicle for speed.
•Deputy stopped subject and issued warning for failure to signal.
Jan. 6
•G & S requested a deputy to come help with traffic control with his lights. He has one car in the median.
•Deputy conducted a traffic stop and issued citations for expired plates and no proof of insurance.
•Complainant reported insulation on County Road 4 on the way to Magnolia. When deputy arrived, someone was already there cleaning it up. It was loose insulation and someone came by and said they would push the rest of it off the road.
•Complainant reported garbage dumped between 231st Street and 221st Street at location. Called chairman of the Denver Township Board to advise we had a couple of calls on it.
•Reserved for monthly siren test.
•Complainant reported he is being harassed via text messages.
•Complainant reported the theft of a couple of items and has it on video.
•Complainant brought in a third of a can of old gunpowder he would like us to destroy.
•Complainant reported a black four-wheel-drive Chevy pickup truck hanging around the area the past couple days. Complainant advised it drives by slowly and sometimes parks down the street for a brief time. Deputies will stop the vehicle if they see it there again. It was gone upon arrival.
•Deputy stopped Minnesota license plate 761CJE and driver produced insurance information. He gave the driver until the end of the week to get tabs.
•Dispatcher received 911 call about a vehicle stalled in the middle of Highway 75 at County Road 7. Transferred call to state patrol.
•Deputy stopped a vehicle and warned subject for speed.
•Deputy conducted a traffic stop and warned subject for speed.
Jan. 7
•Complainant reported they just noticed their teal Road Master and blue mountain bikes are missing. They may have been gone for a month or so.
•Deputy stopped vehicle and cited subject for speed.
•Complainant reported that she is in a domestic situation. Called an advocate to come to the Rock County Sherriff’s Office. Subject turned himself in.
•Subject reported that she has a subject on parole and he missed a meeting with her. They are requesting that we keep an eye out for him as he was living in Rock County. Also gave a description of the vehicle he is driving.
•Deputy conducted a traffic stop by the city park.
•Deputy conducted a traffic stop at North Blue Mound Avenue & East Main Street.
•Deputy gave subject until next week to get current tabs; warned for speed.
•Complainant reported he was repossessing a vehicle in Luverne. Owner is aware of it.
•Deputy conducted traffic stop and warned subject to get his taillight fixed that was damaged in an accident. Subject also needs to get his license plate attached to the bumper of the car and not thrown in the dash. Subject needs to obtain current proof of insurance and bring it in.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on subject. No one has seen or heard from her in a couple of days.
•Complainant reported he saw a woman slip and fall. When he went to help, she got up and left.
•Complainant reported repossessing a vehicle in Luverne.
•Deputy cited subject for no proof of insurance. He was also warned for a taillight out and an uncased shotgun in the back of his pickup. Subject was advised the rules in Minnesota are Different that South Dakota and what they are.
In addition, officers responded to 4 motor vehicle accidents, 4 vehicles in ditch, 2 funeral escorts, 14 ambulance runs, 2 parking violations, 8 paper services, 5 animal complaints, 2 fingerprint requests, 7 log/alarm sheets, 3 drug court tests, and issued 15 purchase/carry permits and 31 burn permits.
