Rock County Community Library Director Serena Gutnik is reaching out to all local reading enthusiasts to sign up for the annual winter reading program, “Book Your Winter Getaway.”
The more readers, the more books, the better, said Gutnik, who said the Rock County Community Library gets special recognition for various distinctions including the most new participants enrolled in the program and most books read throughout the three-month period.
“So it’s a friendly competition among the libraries in the Plum Creek Library system,” she said.
The annual winter reading program, sponsored by the Plum Creek Library System and its member libraries, began Jan. 2 and continues through March 31.
Gutnik said registrations are still being accepted for the program that’s open to ages 18 and older, and rewards readers for doing what they love to do — read.
Participation is simple, she said: Sign up at the library and pledge to read at least 12 books during the three-month program.
Gutnick said most readers will meet that goal and many will exceed that number.
In Rock County, library patrons who complete the challenge will receive incentive prizes — mug, hot/cold pack, credit card case or tote.
Call the library at 449-4050, for information.
