Students perform winter band concert

Luverne instrumental students entertained audiences Thursday night, Dec. 17, with their performance of the Winter Band Concert in the Luverne High School gym. Fifth-graders, under the direction of Angie Swenson, made their performance debut, and the evening’s music grew more polished as the older grades took their turns in the spotlight. Middle school and high school students performed under the direction of Richard Owen, who also directs the high school jazz band, which performed several numbers for a full gym of audience members.
