Patriot girls upend Adrian

The Hills-Beaver Creek girls’ basketball team posted a 62-42 Red Rock Conference victory in Adrian.

The visiting Patriots opened a 26-18 lead in the first half before outscoring the Dragons 36-24 in the final 18 minutes of play to secure a 20-point victory.

Avery Van Roekel (14 points and five steals), Sidney Fick (13 points), Mekayla Kolbrek (10 points and five rebounds) and Grace Bundesen (10 points and four steals) led the Patriots to victory.

Jasmine Lingen (five rebounds and three steals) and Kourtney Rozeboom (six rebounds) also made key contributions for H-BC.

Jodi Bents turned in a 12-point, six-rebound effort for the Dragons.

Brooke Grussing and Lexi Slater collected six and five rebounds respectively for Adrian, while Kaitlyn Christians charted three assists.

 

Wildcats overwhelm Ellsworth girls

The Heron Lake-Okabena girls’ basketball team rolled to a 74-26 victory in Ellsworth.

The Wildcats opened a 40-13 victory in the first half and outscored the Panthers 34-14 in the second half to ice their 47-point victory.

Hannah Kramer and Devin Dreesen netted seven points each to lead Ellsworth, and Kramer charted a team-high four steals.

Megan Popkes led the Panthers with seven rebounds.
