Dispatch report
Nov. 13
•Complainant reported she has been receiving calls from someone who kept calling and asking for her husband. When she told them to stop calling or she would call law enforcement, they threatened to kill her. The phone call was from Jamaica.
•Complainant reported that a blue Blazer, two-door model, just pulled into their parking lot and spun out, just missing her vehicle, and left heading south on Hwy. 75.
•Complainant reported she was receiving harassing text messages from subject.
•Complainant reported a suspicious van that has been loitering around the back parking lot for about five hours. It’s a blue Chevy van with a yellow stripe and Illinois plates. Turned out to be a transcient. Employees were told they could ask for an escort from a deputy if he was still there when they left.
•Complainant reported he was on Bluemound Avenue and Warren Street and he saw smoke south of the water treatment plant. Deputy was unable to locate any smoke or fire in the vicinity.
•Deputy arrested subject for DWI refusal. Subject was taken to jail.

•Complainant reported a suspicious van is back and the employees would like a deputy to stand by when they leave work.
Nov. 14
•Deputy stopped vehicle and cited driver for no Minnesota driver’s license and no insurance. Vehicle was towed by G&S.
•Dispatch received an alarm at a business and keyholder wouldn’t answer the phone. This happens often.
•Dispatch received a 911 call with rustling in the background. Sent deputies to check the ditches in the area. Notified State Patrol also.
•Dispatch received a 911 call from a transcient who had been sleeping in a drain pipe/ditch on Hwy. 75 between mile marker 7 and 8 and he said he was cold. This is the same area as the previous calls. Deputy transported subject to South Dakota where he wanted to be.
•Complainant reported she was driving behind a car that was by Glen’s and they were swerving and speeding up and slowing down. Complainant reported there were two women in the car.
•Complainant reported a black dually pickup that has been sitting at McKenzie Street and Barck Avenue. It drove around the block a couple of times and someone got out and was looking around a house and now the truck is sitting there. Subject was looking into the windows of a house. He was of medium height and build with jeans and a camo coat.
Nov. 15
•Complainant reported a distraught person who is quite upset.
•Complainant requested a deputy come to talk with her. When deputy arrived, she had taken off on foot and was yelling. Subject called 911 again and was very hard to understand. Deputy found subject passed out in a yard.
•Complainant reported three hay bales in the middle of the road on County Rd. 5 and 11. Bales were gone when deputy got there.
•Complainant reported a couple of boys in the alleyway throwing paint cans at an abandoned building. Deputy reported he spoke to three juveniles, and a parent called wanting to know why we were talking to his son. He was told about what they were doing.
•Complainant reported a piece of iron sticking out of the railroad track on Hwy. 75. He moved it off the road. Contacted Brent and left a voicemail.
•Complainant reported someone trespassing on his property. There is a vehicle parked there now. Deputy reported it was a family dispute over the property and everything was resolved.
•Complainant reported his girlfriend took her child to be with his aunt in a different county and the girlfriend does not have enough money to get back. The aunt said she is not bringing him back so complainant wants kidnapping charges brought against her. Deputy advised it’s not kidnapping and it’s a civil issue.
Nov. 16
•Reserved for heat team callout in Spencer, Iowa.
•Complainant requested to speak with someone about a serious situation. Had him speak with deputy.
•Complainant requested an ICR for a bad check written to the Rock-Nobles Community Corrections for $120.
•Complainant stopped in with some evidence to show a deputy.
•Complainant reported vandalism to a vehicle that he owns.
•Complainant reported he just walked out of the Bluestem and his pickup is gone. OnStar is active and located the vehicle in a different part of the lot.
•Complainant reported she and her husband got into an argument and subject got into complainant’s face. Complainant took a swing at him and wants the husband out of the house.
•Complainant requested someone check on her mother to make sure she’s OK.
Nov. 17
•Complainant came into dispatch and said she had some information we would be interested in.
•Complainant requested a random alcohol test on subject. Tested .000.
•Complainant called in again with information she thought we wanted. She was told that we can’t harass people and not to call about it anymore.
•Complainant reported subject was supposed to move out and they would like a deputy present at that time.
•Complainant reported that she received a phone call that ended up being a scam. They said they were with a credit card company and she gave them all of her info. She cancelled her credit cards but wanted to speak with a deputy.
•Complainant reported that he is with Yellow Cab out of Sioux Falls and he drove someone to Luverne to the gas station, and when it came time to pay, the man tried to pay with about twenty credit cards and none of them were valid. Complainant requested a deputy at the gas station.
•Complainant reported that she almost hit a tractor southbound on Hwy. 75 near the airport. He only has one blinking amber light and that is indicating a turn.
Nov. 18
•Reserved for POR registration.
•Complainant reported he stopped at someone’s residence to fix something and when he went out to get some tools out of his vehicle, it was the last time he saw his vehicle. It was located a block away.
Nov. 19
•Complainant reported that she lost her keys at the post office and they told her a woman found them and said she would take them to Papik Motors. Complainant went there but they didn’t have them. They are on a silver key fob with a sticker for an oil change at Papik Motors.
•Sheriff reported he was out with a vehicle on I-90 and Hwy. 75 and it was in the traffic lane and they could not get the vehicle into gear to move it. Requested G&S. Sheriff then reported that it was now off the road and in the McDonald’s parking lot.
•Complainant reported theft of a black jacket from the pool.
 
In addition, officers responded to 1 motor vehicle accident, 2 deer accidents, 2 transports, 1 funeral escort, 18 ambulance runs, 8 paper services, 4 animal complaints, 2 false alarms, 1 fingerprint request, 1 driver’s license check, 8 log/alarm sheets, 4 drug court tests, and issued 6 purchase/carry permits and 6 burn permits.
