Luverne District residents to vote on referendum renewal this fall

The Luverne School District will place a question on the ballot in November to extend an existing referendum for 10 years.
The $763.34 per pupil referendum will continue to bring in $837,886 per year and allow the district to operate with current state programs and services for students for the next decade.
Luverne Public Schools offer comprehensive pre-kindergarten through Grade 12 programming and will continue providing quality education through proper staffing and programming levels. The district will continue updating as needed in all areas as educational trends evolve.
The district is seeking the referendum renewal to continue an existing referendum that is scheduled to expire. Passage of this referendum extends an existing operating referendum at the same amount per pupil as in the previous years.
For agricultural property (both homestead and non-homestead), the taxes for the proposed renewal referendum will be based on the value of the house, garage and surrounding one acre of land only. There will be no referendum taxes paid on the value of other agricultural lands and buildings.
Voting will take place in the Luverne High School gymnasium on Nov. 3 with polls open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
