Aug. 14
•Deputy arrested subject for controlled substance DWI. Contacted Erwin’s to tow and took subject to jail.
•Complainant requested we check on a stalled vehicle on I-90 mm 15 eastbound lane. Vehicle was gone upon deputy’s arrival.
•Complainant reported a car all over the road on I-90 eastbound from South Dakota. He has been following it from South Dakota and the car pulled off at exit 3 and was sitting at the stop sign. Complainant had to continue on. Only description of vehicle was that when they hit the brakes, the lights on the outside came on and one in the middle.
•Complainant reported someone on Instagram posted many pictures of guns and is always saying she is going to kill herself because she’s been bullied a lot. She was told to contact that police department. She found out that subject is a 12 year old boy posing as a girl. His parents were contacted and they were going to handle it.
•Complainant reported he was triple charged for services at business. The business will fix the issue.
Aug. 15
•Deputy stopped vehicle and cited subject for no Minnesota driver’s license and no insurance. Contacted G&S to tow.
•Complainant reported subject is broken down in a white pickup and he is revoked.
•Deputy reported there is an open door. Door was secured and keyholder notified.
•Deputy stopped subject and he is revoked. Contacted Erwin’s to tow.
•Complainant reported there appears to be an underage party at the creamery pond.
Aug. 16
•Complainant reported a suspicious vehicle that has been sitting on the state line for several hours with one occupant. Complainant reported the vehicle is two miles west of Hills, then two miles south, and ½ mile west again. Vehicle is a green Dodge Dakota.
•Complainant reported he was heading eastbound on 201st St. and a maroon SUV was heading northbound on 60th Ave. The SUV did not stop at the stop sign and almost hit complainant. Complainant is willing to sign a complaint.
•Dispatch received two 911 calls from a very small child with limited speaking ability. Sent deputy who reported that children were playing with an old phone and they didn’t realize all old phones are capable of calling 911.
Aug. 17
•Deputy arrested subject on a Rock County warrant and took him to jail.
•Minnehaha County Sherriff’s Office reported a theft that occurred in Luverne.
•Complainant requested the Fire Department again after cancelling for prior alarm to check for CO2 buildup. Paged Luverne Fire Department.
•Complainant requested a residence check for a couple of weeks.
•Deputy arrested subject on a Dickinson County warrant out of Iowa. He was taken to jail to await extradition proceedings.
Aug. 18
•Complainant reported some vandalism to a sign.
•Complainant reported someone is messing with his wife’s stuff.
•Reserved for a name change.
•Complainant reported kids shooting off fireworks on S. Fairview Drive.
•Complainant reported a theft of medication.
•Reserved for narcotic information.
•Complainant reported child custody issues.
•Complainant requested we check on people at the motel, as their young kid screams during the night and during the day.
•Complainant reported that she believes someone flattened her tire.
Aug. 19
•Complainant reported a van parked on the wrong side oft eh street and over the sidewalk, and also a trailer that is full of junk is parked there in Steen.
•Complainant reported she found a syringe in her front yard and wanted to know what to do with it. Deputy took it to the hospital to dispose of it.
•Complainant reported he was following a truck and a couple of boxes fell out. They were placed off the road. Sent deputy to check on them and they were gone. They were later located and brought to the Rock County Sherriff’s Office. Owner contacted.
•Complainant requested a deputy come and view some video footage where it shows a shoplifter. Suspect is a local person.
•Deputy arrested subject for 2nd degree DWI, D.A.R., and theft. Subject was taken to jail.
•Complainant reported there was a young woman asking about buying a car in their lot. She was acting strange and they were concerned. One minute she was good and the next minute she was screaming.
•Complainant reported that subject was driving on County Rd. 3 when he crossed over the center line and was headed straight at him. Complainant had to get out of the way. Vehicle was a black GMC pickup.
•Complainant reported several vehicles at the corner of Dodge and McKenzie Streets that have not moved in a while and he would like them gone. There is a gray Lincoln, blue Chevy pickup, and a pickup with a trailer. It belongs to the residents with the ice cream truck.
Aug. 20
•Complainant reported they will be loading a train and 41st Street will be closed until tomorrow.
•Complainant requested a random alcohol test for the city. Tested .000.
•Complainant reported family problems between parents and guardians.
•Complainant reported fuel stolen from planes.
•Complainant reported a problem with a young child that is acting out.
•Complainant reported they were repossessing a vehicle today in Luverne.
•Complainant requested a deputy to assist her with a man that showed up at her door and said that a car that she was holding for her mom belonged to him. Car was registered in his name. He was told he could trailer it away, as it has expired plates.
•Complainant reported that there was someone in a small yellow single engine plane flying very low, almost hitting the tree tops. It has been going on for some time. Deputy checked it out and said it was a crop duster.
In addition, officers responded to 1 motor vehicle accident, 23 ambulance runs, 4 paper services, 10 animal complaints, 2 false alarms, 1 fingerprint request, 7 log/alarm sheets, 8 drug court tests, and issued 3 purchase/carry permits and 6 burn permits.
