4-H day camp brought a little bit of the farm to town

Lead Summary
, , ,

Area youth learned a little more about living on a farm during Rock County 4-H’s “Ag is Everywhere” day camp conducted July 10 at the Rock County Fairgrounds in Luverne.
With the help of seven youth ambassadors, 10 participants created corn sun catchers, played an ag jeopardy game and learned about animal care that included viewing various syringes and health care items.
Activities included filling rubber gloves with water to represent a cow’s udder and participating in a feeding the “calves” relay race. The race included donning hats, gloves and coveralls and ducking under a pretend electric fence while carrying a bottle of “milk.”
To end the event, participants enjoyed an ear of “corn” and grapes for a snack.
