ISD #2184 School Board meets May 28
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING OF
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2184,
ROCK COUNTY, LUVERNE, MINNESOTA.
A regular meeting of the Board of Education, ISD #2184, was held in the District Office on May 28, 2015, at 7:00 p.m.
The following members were present: Katie Baustian, Eric Hartman, Shelley Sandbulte and Reva Sehr. Also present: Gary Fisher, Marlene Mann, Ryan Johnson, and Mavis Fodness Р Rock County Star Herald.
Vice-Chairperson Katie Baustian called the meeting to order. It was noted that Susan Beers, Technology Integration Specialist, will present her showcase at the June 25 school board meeting. Motion made by Hartman, second by Sehr, to approve the agenda with the removal of the showcase item. Motion unanimously carried.
Administrative reports were given.
Motion made by Sehr, second by Sandbulte, to approve the school board minutes from April 23, 2015, as presented. Motion unanimously carried.
Business Manager Marlene Mann reviewed the school district bills. Motion made by Hartman, second by Sandbulte, to approve payment of the bills in the amount of $1,251,866.30. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Sandbulte, second by Sehr, to receive the Student Activity Report showing the balances as of April 30, 2015. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion by Hartman, second by Sehr, to approve the school board meeting schedule for 2015-16 as presented. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Hartman, second by Sandbulte, to approve the annual Seasonal Layoff Resolution as presented. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Sandbulte, second by Hartman, to approve the 2015-16 Resolution for Membership in the Minnesota State High School League. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion by Sehr, second by Hartman, to approve the Community Education Summer Recreation contracts as presented. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Sandbulte, second by Sehr, to approve Student Assurance Services for student accident insurance for the 2015-16 school year. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Hartman, second by Sehr, to approve the Southwest Minnesota State University Student Teaching Agreement for July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2018. Motion unanimously carried.
Superintendent Fisher reviewed the Literacy Plan. Motion by Sandbulte, second by Hartman, to approve the plan as presented. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Hartman, second by Sehr, to approve the hiring of Ann Robinson as Special Education teacher for a salary of $47,183.00. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Sandbulte, second by Hartman, to approve a request from Southwest Minnesota State University for Jessica Chapman to complete her student teaching with Chris Nowatzki, art teacher, from August through November 6, 2015. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Sehr, second by Hartman, to approve the request from St. Mary’s University for Christine Golombiesky to complete a 40-50 hour internship with Ryan Johnson, Middle/High School Principal Ryan Johnson. Motion unanimously carried.
Committee reports were given. The upcoming meeting dates were reviewed.
Motion made by Hartman, second by Sehr, to adjourn the meeting. Motion unanimously carried.
