Ellsworth boys complete track season

The 2015 track season came to an end for the Ellsworth Panther boys at the end of Thursday’s Section 3A meet in Luverne.
Four EHS boys competed in five events at the meet.
The Panthers, however, were unable to qualify for state by placing first or second in any event, or by meeting the state qualifying standards that are in place for the section meet.
Senior Jon Beekman did place in three events to account for all eight of Ellsworth’s team points at the meet.
Beekman’s best effort came in the long jump, where he finished fifth with a distance of 19-6 ½.
Beekman also placed seventh in the 100- and 200-meter dashes with respective 11.77 and 23.83 times.
Beekman also ran a leg with Ellsworth’s 400-meter relay, which placed 15th with a time of 48.17.
Tyler Kurrasch, Cole Meester and Madison Lewis teamed up with Beekman in the relay.
Lewis placed 13th in the triple jump with a distance of 36-10.
