LHS softball team ends 6-11 regular season

The Luverne softball wrapped up their home slate by rolling to a 13-3, five-inning win over the Worthington Trojans Monday.

Luverne exploded for 13 hits offensively and pitcher Rylee Olson tossed a three-hit complete game to highlight the win.

Olson fanned six batters.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, the Cards scored the next 12 runs, including a nine-run outburst in the fourth inning, to open a 12-1 advantage.

Worthington score twice in the top of the fifth, but the Cards ended the game by the 10-run rule after scoring one run in the bottom of the fifth.

Brianna Jonason, Bryanna Wessels, Kayla Thome and Madi Oye registered two hits at the plate for LHS.

Olson drilled a homerun for the Cards, while Alexis Hiller, Kaitlyn Roberts, Susan Thompson and Lexi Hinrichs added one hit each.
