Dragons squander opportunity to clinch share of RRC title

The Adrian baseball team squandered a chance to clinch a share of the Red Rock Conference championship May 13 in Slayton.

Taking on a Murray County Central in the league finale for both squads, the Dragons lost their second conference game of the campaign when they came up on the short end of a 4-0 decision.

The Dragons end RRC play with an 8-2 record.

AHS was limited to a pair of singles from Nolan Rogers and Logan Rogers in the game.

MCC, which recorded three hits, played two runs in the first and second innings to settle the issue.

Brady Lonneman was saddled with the pitching loss after tossing one and one-third innings of three-run (one run was earned) ball.

Logan Rogers pitched the final four and two-thirds innings, limiting MCC to one hit and one run.
