Adrian golfers earn wins at home event

The Adrian golf teams registered victories during an event at the Adrian Area Country Club Thursday.

The Dragon boys won a triangular involving Hills-Beaver Creek and Southwest Christian.

The AHS girls downed SWC 191-295.

Katie Wieneke led the Dragon girls to a 104-stroke victory by carding a 41 to secure medalist honors.

Jada Elias, Alexia Kemper and Mackenzie Wagner added respective 47-, 51- and 52-stroke scores to the team tally, while Courtney Penning and Madelyn Odell shot 59 and 62 stroke rounds without impacting the scoring.

Katie Van Dam led the E-Gals with a 60.

The AHS boys turned in a 159-stroke effort to top H-BC (190) and SWC (217).

Collin Kemper earned medalist honors for the Dragons by firing a one-over-par 37.

Ben Henning, Ryan Elias and Tommy McCarthy added 39-, 41- and 42-stroke rounds to the team tally, while Brady Henning and Mitchell Veld shot 45- and 47-stroke rounds without influencing the scoring.

Stuart Plimpton led the Patriots with a 44, while Anthony Ackerman, Noah Holthaus and Justin Sandbulte added 47-, 49- and 50-stroke rounds to the team score.

Preston Maassen shot a 50 and Braden Ellingson a 54 for H-BC.

Jay DeBoer led the Eagles with a 43
