Tigers top softball girls
A rough first inning to defeat for the Luverne Cardinals when they entertained Marshall for a softball game Tuesday.
The visiting Tigers plated five runs in the first inning on the way to building a 10-0 advantage after four and one-half innings of play.
The Cards kept the game alive by putting together a four-run rally in the bottom of the fifth, but Marshall capped the scoring by plating one run in the seventh inning to cap an 11-4 victory.
Alexis Hiller recorded two hits for the Cards, while Rilee Olson, Ariel DeBeer and Katie Kracht chipped in one hit each.
Olson pitched one-plus innings and was saddled with the loss after yielding seven runs. DeBeer tossed six innings of four-run ball.
