AHS golf boys second, girls third at Fulda Invitational

The Adrian golf teams participated in eight-squad fields at the Fulda Invitational Tuesday.

The Adrian boys topped six of the eight teams on hand to place second, while the Dragon girls finished third overall.

Murray County Central topped AHS 317-330 in the boys’ competition.

Windom (339), Westbrook Walnut Grove (370), Mountain Lake Area (384), Fulda (395), Red Rock Central (399) and Heron Lake-Okabena (479) capped the field.

Ben Henning placed third individually after registering a 78.

Ryan Elias, Collin Kemper and Tommy McCarthy added respective 81-, 84- and 87-stroke rounds to the team tally, while Brady Henning and Mitchell Veld turned in 89- and 92-stroke tallies without influencing the scoring.

MCC’s Adam Christensen earned medalist honors with a 71.

Adrian compiled a 386-stroke tally to top MCC (424), Fulda (439), HL-O (469), RRC (472) and Southwest Christian (557) in the girls’ standings.

Windom bested W-WG 347-384 to claim the team crown.

Alexia Kemper placed fifth individually for AHS with a 90.

Katie Wieneke and Mackenzie Wagner added 98s to the team tally, while Jada Elias capped the scoring with a 100.

Courtney Penning and Madelyn Odell shot 119- and 130-stroke rounds without impacting the scoring.

W-WG’s Abby Herding claimed the individual title with an 80.
