Lorie Line and her Fab 5 at Palace Theatre May 9

Pianist Lorie Line will return to Luverne this weekend for her popular intimate evening series.
During her Saturday, May 9, performance at the Historic Palace Theatre, Line plans to play the classics and originals that have made her one of the most well-known pianists in the country.
She will also highlight a few songs from her upcoming CD/Music Book, “The Heritage Collection, Volume Seven” releasing at the end of May.
Line has performed on over 2,000 stages in her 25-year career, known mainly for her holiday tours but also for her non-seasonal “intimate series” that bring her to smaller towns.
This year’s Fab 5 features young talent from Minnesota, including Robbie Nordstrom on violin, Derek Bromme (from Duluth) on the trombone, Marcus Farrow on drums, bassist Christian Harger and guitarist Scott Deming.
“Surrounding myself with the best players possible makes making music so much more fun, and after touring all these years, I know how important that is … and my crowd loves young, amazing talent.”
Line has produced three television specials for PBS. Perhaps the most published pianist of her time, she has recorded 47 CDs and has published 47 books of  music of her arrangements and compositions.
Line and her husband/tour manager, Tim, live in Orono on Lake Minnetonka.
Saturday’s show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are available at the Carnegie Cultural Center, 281-8294.
Line will be in the lobby at the Palace following the performance to greet her fans, sign CDs and music books, and take photos.
