Dragons split golf marches with Worthington

The Adrian Dragons and Worthington Trojans split golf matches at the Worthington Country Club Monday.

The Adrian girls came out on the winning end of a 186-205 decision, but the AHS boys came out on the short end of a 161-172 tally.

Alexia Kemper led the Dragon girls to a 19-shot win by shooting a medal-earning round of 43 strokes.

Katie Wieneke, Jada Elias and Mackenzie Wagner added 44-, 48- and 51-stroke scores to the winning team tally.

Madelyn Odell and Courtney Penning posted 62- and 64-stroke scores without influencing the scoring.

Ashley Hoefker led the Trojans with a 47.

Will Mulder led the WHS boys to an 11-shot victory over AHS by carding a 37 to secure medalist honors.

Ben Henning paced the Dragons with a 41.

Ryan Elias and Collin Kemper shot 42s for Adrian, while Brady Henning wrapped up the team scoring with a 47.

Tommy McCarthy and Mitchell Veld shot 50- and 51-stroke rounds without impacting the scoring.
