Adrian Area drops four softball tilts

The Adrian Dragons let a potential softball victory slip away when they challenged the Wildcats in Okabena Thursday.

AA led 1-0 and sported a 6-6 lead after four and one-half innings of play, but the Wildcats scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth and withstood a late challenge by the Dragons to secure a 10-9 victory.

Devin Dreesen led a 12-hit attack offered by AA with four hits and three RBIs.

Brooke Grussing (two RBIs), Madisyn Dingmann and Alecia Lunt recorded two hits each.

Dreesen took the pitching loss after relieving Jodi Bents in the fifth inning.

AA also dropped games to Fairmont (26-2), New Ulm Cathedral (16-3) and Madelia-Truman (8-0) at the Windom Tournament Saturday, but no statistical information was available from those contests.
