A shorthanded Dragon team turned a good start into a comfortable win in Slayton Thursday.

With five players on the roster unable to attend the game due to various illnesses, Dragon coach Strand had seven girls available to play in the game.

The situation didn't seem to matter as Adrian raced to an 18-3 lead in the first quarter and went on to beat the Rebels by 17 points.

"We got on them early by getting some transition baskets. Then we held our own the rest of the way," Strand said.

Adrian led 28-14 at halftime and 38-22 after three quarters before winning by 17 in the end.

Brooke Bullerman and Jennifer Wolf registered double-doubles for the winners. Bullerman netted 14 points and nabbed 10 rebounds. Wolf had 11 points and 10 assists.
