The Luverne-Hills-Beaver Creek-Ellsworth wrestling team had a busy stretch that consisted of three competitions in a six-day span.
The Cardinals dropped a 19-point home decision to Windom-Mountain Lake-Butterfield-Odin Thursday, and went 0-1-1 during the Garretson (S.D.) Triangular Tuesday. L-H-BC-E also placed 11th at the Jackson County Central Tournament Saturday.
The 0-3-1 Cards will wrestle in Pipestone Thursday, Dec. 21.
The Cardinals picked up a tie and a loss during Tuesday's event in Garretson.
The night started off in a rough way as the Cards fell 55-10 to Harrisburg, but they bounced back to knot the host team at 36 in the finale.
L-H-BC-E had six forfeits and lost five matches during the battle against Harrisburg.
Ruston Aaker and Chris Tiesler picked up wins at 119 and 130. Aaker pinned Jake Cawthorne in 3:53, and Tiesler notched a 21-11 major decision victory against Tyler Johnson.
The Cards forfeited six more times in the second match against Garretson, but they picked up three forfeits and received three pins while battling the hosts to a draw at 36.
Aaker (125), Marcus Walgrave (152) and Canaan Petersen (160) drew forfeits in the match.
Tiesler pinned Mike Willems in 51 seconds at 130, Zach Skattum covered Alex Haffer in 3:50 at 171 and Cody Jagow stuck Brandon McLellan in 2:37 at heavyweight.

Two Cardinals placed second to highlight L-H-BC-E's appearance at the JCC Tournament Saturday.
L-H-BC-E, which had five wrestlers entered in varsity competition and another involved in an exhibition class, had no chance to compete for a team title while leaving eight weight classes open.
The Cards ended up capping an 11-team field with 52 points. JCC (205), Adrian (186), Red Rock Central-Westbrook-Walnut Grove (134), Wabasha-Kellogg (122.5), W-ML-B-O (112), Madelia-Truman (105), Pipestone-Jasper (93), River Valley (87.5), Worthington (62) and Fulda-Murray County Central (61) complete the field.
Cardinals Chris Tiesler and Zach Skattum placed second at 119 and 160 respectively.
Tiesler posted a 13-1 major decision win over W-ML-B-O's Nick Kulseth and a 7-3 victory over P-J's Justin Fruechte to reach the finals, where he lost an 11-4 decision to RV's Phil McMullen.
Skattum pinned Adrian's Levi Bullerman in 3:25 and edged RV's Marty Hoffman to reach the finals, where he lost a 14-3 major decision to JCC's Dusty Wilking.
Joel Evans placed fifth at 189 by going 3-2. Marcus Walgrave and Canaan Petersen didn't place at 140 and 145 with 1-2 marks. Cody Jagow placed third in an exhibition 215-pound weight class with a 2-2 mark.
W-ML-B-O 48, L-H-BC-E 24
The Cardinals opened their home and Southwest Conference schedules by coming up on the short end of a 24-point decision against the Cobras Thursday.
Shorthanded L-H-BC-E had to give W-ML-B-O 24 points in forfeits (at 103, 130, 135 and 160), and that proved to be the difference in the match.
Cardinal wrestlers won five of nine matches that were staged, but they couldn't make up the ground created by the forfeits.
Marcus Walgrave, Zach Skattum and Joel Evans all produced six-point wins by registering pins for L-H-BC-E. Walgrave covered Derek Hall in 4:31 at 152, Skattum stuck Josh Gardner in 49 seconds at 171 and Evans pinned Kole Zimmerman in 5:43 at 189.
Cardinals Chris Tiesler and Canaan Petersen posted decision wins at 125 and 140 respectively. Tiesler topped David Borsgard 7-2. Petersen was an 8-6 victor against Ryan Kruger.
W-ML-B-O received pins from Anthony Elg (1:22 over Dustin Donth at 112), Nick Kulseth (1:24 over Ruston Aaker at 119), Spence Haugen (3:24 against Kevin Schultz at 145) and Chad Brown (4:25 over Cody Jagow at heavyweight).
