"Two major transactions were consummated this week which will mean spectacular improvement to the Luverne business district, providing new business homes for two institutions and involving expenditures well over $200,000.
In one transaction, the Tri State Mutual Insurance Co. of Luverne purchased over 10,000 square feet of ground from Herman Jochims for the purpose of erecting a new business home for the insurance company.
Announcement was made this week that construction will start within a very few days on a new business home for the J.C. Penney store in Luverne. After seven months of negotiations, contracts were signed with the owners of two properties on the south side of Main Street which will enable the company to have an all modern-type store."
