Kenneth Fun Days, set annually for the weekend after the fair, is two days of organized activities for both young and old.
“It’s a way to get together,” said organizer Kristy Vander Ziel. “People are so busy.”
Fun Days kicked off Friday night, Aug. 7, with movie night.
About three dozen children and adults gathered on the lawn behind the former Kenneth Lutheran Church building. Lying on blankets or sitting in chairs munching popcorn, they viewed the animated movie, “Home,” projected on the church exterior wall.
Activities geared up again on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 8, with the annual lawn mower ride.
More than two dozen people participated in the event in which individuals drove or rode on lawn mowers, golf carts, four-wheelers and some homemade vehicles.
The seven-mile ride took participants on a tour of paved and gravel roads around the west side of Kenneth.
The evening concluded with an outdoor supper on Main Street and music by country performer Gloria Wieneke of Lismore.
