Photographs from veterans and their families have been submitted from Luverne and throughout the United States to be displayed at the Carnegie Cultural Center during the month of October for the first-ever Veteran Photo Show.
The show was developed to complement military photographer Stacy Pearsall’s Oct. 2 program, “Combat from Behind the Camera.”
As part of her Veterans Portrait Project, Pearsall photographed local veterans and shared her military story at the historic Palace Theatre and with area students at Luverne Public School.
The Veteran Photo Show at the Carnegie features some of Pearsall’s award-winning photographs, but its primary focus is to display and archive Rock County veteran photos.
All local veterans of all eras and military conflicts were invited to share photos, either from active duty or any time in their lives, for the show. Families were encouraged to send images in memoriam.
The resulting collection of submitted photographs is now on display for the month of October at the Carnegie Cultural Center.
Carnegie hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The Carnegie phone number is 283-8294.
