Residents of the Tuff Memorial Home and their families and community members enjoyed a car show and family picnic Tuesday, Aug. 6.
Twenty-five area car enthusiasts brought vehicles to the Tuff Home front parking lot for the event that featured food, music by Rod Scholten, family games and special appearances by the Tuff Home Family Council and H-BC football players and coaches.
Tuff residents voted on car entries, and trophies were awarded. Greg Kvale won first place with his 1967 Chevy Malibu. Second place went to Brad Thiner with his 2009 Pontiac G8, and third place was awarded to Steve Paulsen with a  1934 Ford Coupe.
The event was sponsored by Security Savings Bank, Thrivent Financial, Coca-Cola, U.S. Foods, Sam and Glenda McGaffee and Hidden Hills Café.
Donations were accepted for the Alzheimer’s Association, of which several Tuff Home staff workers are members, and they will participate in the Sept. 14 Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
