Trail etiquette encouraged on Loop path

The Luverne Loop trail system is progressing through Phase 2 of construction and users are enjoying the complete parts of the path, as well as the Blue Mound Trail to the state park.

Following is a list of trail etiquette tips to help keep path users safe and keep the trail system enjoyable to all users.

•Obey all traffic control signs, especially stop signs.

•Watch for traffic at intersections.

•Trail is open from dawn to dusk.

•Stay to the right when others approach.

•Pass on the left when safe and give audible signal.

•Yield to pedestrians and slower trail users.

•Keep pets on a leash and under control at all times.

•Pick up after your pets.

•Take your trash when you leave.

•Trail is a 100-percent tobacco-free zone.

•Respect adjoining property.

•Motorized vehicles are not allowed on the trail.

•Be predictable — always look behind before changing position on the trail.

•When in a group, avoid using more than half the trail and keep to the right half of the trail.
