'Touch a Truck' attracts 300 children

Occasional honks and beeps from various large vehicles could be heard coming from Main Street Luverne Monday night as the Plaza Committee of Luverne Initiatives for Tomorrow hosted the “Touch a Truck” event. More than a dozen large vehicles and heavy equipment were parked along Main Street for children (and adults) to climb inside, touch all the knobs and give the horns in each of the vehicles a test. Yellow plastic hardhats were given away to the 300 children who attended the event. They gathered stickers from adults stationed at each of the vehicles.
