Sunshine foods donates Side-by-Side ATV to Luverne schools

Lead Summary

Jason Oye (center in the striped shirt) hands the keys of a new Can-Am side-by-side all-terrain vehicle to Luverne Middle-High School Activities Director Todd Oye Thursday night, Aug. 27. The presentation took place before the regular monthly school board meeting. Jason Oye won the vehicle in a raffle drawing, a fundraiser sponsored by the Luverne Area Chamber and Visitors Bureau earlier this year. When Jason Oye, manager of Sunshine Foods, Luverne, discovered his winning ticket was purchased with store funds, he decided to donate the Can-Am to the activities department. “I wanted to donate it to someone who would use it the most,” Jason Oye said. In addition to moving athletic equipment, it will be used Friday to lead runners during the home cross country meet. The vehicle is valued at $15,800.
