Luverne student places in writing contest
Rural Luverne homeschool student Lexie Overvaag won second place in the 2022 Southwest West Central Service Cooperative’s Creative Writing Contest.
Her fictional story, "Tears of Onyx," took second place in the fifth- and sixth-grade division of the SWWC contest.
Sixty-nine students entered the contest in categories of poetry, fiction and non-fiction. Winners were recognized at an awards ceremony April 24 in Marshall. SMSU college students in the creative writing department judged the entries.
