NDSU issues fall semester dean’s list
North Dakota State University, Fargo, has released the Fall 2015 dean’s list. To qualify, students must be enrolled in at least nine class credits and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0.
Named to the dean’s list from Luverne are Paige Adams, nursing; Michael Graff, finance; Savanna Thielbar, women and gender studies; and Sydney Thielbar, accounting.
 
MSU Moorhead releases fall dean’s list
Bryan Stanley was named to the Minnesota State University, Moorhead, dean’s list for the Fall 2015 semester. To be named, students must earn at least a 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale and carry 12 graded credits.
Stanley, a 2014 graduate of Luverne High School, is majoring in music industry and jazz studies.
 
Lake Area Technical Institute announces fall dean’s list
Lake Area Tech, Watertown, South Dakota, has listed two area students to their Fall 2015 dean’s list. To make the list, a student must register full time and maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average.
Included on the list are Matthew McLeod of Hills and Trevor Teal of Luverne.
 
Ridgewater College posts fall dean’s list
Ridgewater College, Willmar, named two area students to their dean’s list for the Fall 2015 semester.  Eligible students must achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher and be enrolled in at least 12 credits.
The list includes Ashton Roskamp, Kenneth, and Spencer Stroeh, Luverne.
 
Morningside College publishes fall dean’s list
Morningside College, Sioux City, Iowa, has named Carey Taubert, Beaver Creek, to their dean’s list for the Fall 2015 semester. Eligible students must achieve a 3.67 grade point average or higher, receive no grade below a C-, and enroll at least 12 credits of coursework.
Taubert is a sophomore majoring in nursing.
 
DSU releases fall 2015 honors list.
Dakota State University, Madison, South Dakota, has released their honors list for the Fall 2015 semester. Eligible students must achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher.
The following area students were named to the list: Evan Bolt, Edgerton; Austin Dirks, Ellsworth; Ashley Olson, Hardwick; Dylan Gehrke and Riley Lentz, Hills; and Alexis Hanson, Steen.
 
UMD announces fall dean’s list
The University of Minnesota, Duluth, has listed a number of Luverne graduates to their Fall 2015 dean’s list. Eligible students have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
The list includes Lexie Severtson, science and engineering; Joseph Sommers, mechanical engineering; Kayla Thone, early childhood studies; and Kaitlin Wohnoutka, biology.
 
UA awards Luverne graduate
The University of Arizona, Tuscon, has announced Sean Limesand is the 2015 recipient of the Research Faculty of the Year Award. The award was created to recognize and honor outstanding achievements and contributions in research by a faculty member in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Limesand graduated from Luverne High School in 1991 and is currently a professor in the School of Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences.
He is the son of Kermit and Linda Limesand, Luverne.
 
SDSU announces scholarship recipient
South Dakota State University, Brookings, has awarded Haley Van Wyhe of Hills the Louise Guild Scholarship in Nutrition for the academic year. Van Wyhe is a senior dietetics student.
She is the daughter of Howard and Heidi Van Wyhe and a 2013 graduate of Hills-Beaver Creek High School.
 
University of North Dakota, Grand Forks
Brittany Nichols, Luverne, graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, at the Winter 2015 ceremonies with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
 
Northwestern College dean’s list
Northwestern College, Orange City, Iowa, has named Klint Knutson, Magnolia, to the fall dean’s list as a Collegiate Scholar.
The designation of Collegiate Scholar requires a GPA of 3.75 or higher.
Knutson is a junior and a biology health professions major. He is the son of Kristi Knutson, Magnolia.
