Rock County Musician performed well at state fair

Matthew Stensland-Bos, Luverne, represented Rock County in the 2019 Minnesota State Fair County Talent Contest last weekend on Baldwin Park Stage in St. Paul on the fairgrounds.
The vocal and baritone ukulele performance of his original ballad, “The Living Verbs,” earned him the top place in Sunday’s round of competition in the open class category and third place overall.
The song is one of several original works that Stensland-Bos composed in 2017 when he was bedridden from illness. It will be part of an album he plans to release in the coming year.
He’s now been performing on local stages, including Luverne, both solo and with fellow musicians. His next appearances will be Sept. 21 in Sterling’s and Oct. 5 during the Wine Walk event.
