Rock County harvest will likely see delays

Rock County Harvest 2016 will have varied results, based on where the most rain fell.
Some soybean fields are standing in water, while other areas of the county are dry, having missed most of the recent heavy rains.
Farmers are reporting some stress to plants as a result of persistent rain. For example, mold and fungus will be an issue if fields don’t dry out.
“I anticipate harvest delays,” said Beaver Creek farmer Peter Bakken. “The variability within the county is going to be significant.”
So far, he said the grain is in good shape and yields have been good in his western Rock County fields, despite wet conditions.
